Regular Giving

Giving a regular gift provides the school with significant and much-valued contributions, over a time period that you choose and that is affordable and manageable to you. This can be arranged by simply setting up a Standing Order. Please do contact the school office for our bank details.

Gifts in Kind

The school can really benefit from non-monetary donations, especially of equipment and resources that you, your employers, local groups you may be a part of, and other contacts of yours may be happy to donate. Perhaps you know of an end of line set of technological equipment that would otherwise be dumped to make may for the new year’s branding, maybe your employer has a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme or charitable budget, perhaps a group you know would be keen to provide library resources? Any donations have to fit with the school’s curriculum provision, but if they do, this can be of great value.

Remembering Charlton Primary School in your Will

You may feel that the most appropriate form of giving is through leaving a gift to the school in your Will. To discuss this in more detail and in confidence, please contact Steven Rose (Headteacher) using the contact details above, who will be able to help you.

Gift Aid

Most personal donations are eligible for gift aid, so if you are a UK taxpayer, your gift may qualify for tax benefits and would increase the value of your gift at no extra cost to you.

If you make a “Gift Aid Declaration”, HM Revenue and Customs will increase your gift to us by 25p for every £1 you give.

If you pay higher rate tax, you may reclaim the difference between the basic rate and higher rate of tax on the gift value through your self-assessment tax return. This could enable you to make a larger gift at no additional cost to yourself.

To make a gift aid donation, this is best done through the Trust’s registered charity, the “King Alfred’s Charitable Trust” who then dispense funds to the schools in the Trust they are raised for. All value donations can be done in this way if eligible, please do ask and you will be provided with a gift aid declaration to complete. The school office will proactively encourage all larger donations to route through this approach.

Projects Fund

Charlton Primary School provides a learning environment which aims to develop each child academically and personally through careful teaching in a happy, positive and well-equipped school.

Why is funding needed for projects at Charlton?

To provide an outstanding education and support for a wide range of enrichment projects (Forest School, a central Library, Art Studio, IT curriculum enhancement to name a few), additional funds can make a real difference and pay for projects that are over and above what the income from central school funding can cover.

Can I make a donation to a specific project?

Yes – if you would like to make a donation to fund or support a specific project in school, then please get in touch with Mr Steven Rose who can speak to you in more detail about current developments at the school which require funding.

Any support that you are able to give will be gratefully appreciated by all of the pupils and will make an immediate and lasting difference across the whole school.
